Privacy Policy for Mind Scoop

This Privacy Policy explains how Brevis Studios and its affiliates (in this case ‘Mind Scoop’) (collectively “we” or “us”) collect, use, and share information from or about you when you use our websites, downloadable applications, interactive TV applications, other digital services and off-line services that link to this policy,  or if you engage in business with us (“Mind Scoop Services or Services”).

At Mind Scoop, accessible from mindscoop.app or the app stores, one of our main priorities is the privacy of our visitors. This Privacy Policy document contains types of information that is collected and recorded by Mind Scoop and how we use it.

Changes to the policy

In the event any notice to you of new, revised, or additional terms is determined by a tribunal to be insufficient, the prior agreement shall continue until sufficient notice to establish a new agreement occurs. You can reject any new, revised or additional terms by discontinuing use of the Service.

Information we collect

The personal information that you are asked to provide, and the reasons why you are asked to provide it, will be made clear to you at the point we ask you to provide your personal information.

If you contact us or register for an account or a service, we may receive additional information about you such as your name, email address, phone number, demographic information, financial information, information about your interest of preferences, the contents of the message and/or attachments you may send us, and any other information you may choose to provide.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect in various ways, including to:

How long will we keep your information

We will keep your information only for as long as it is necessary, unless a longer retention is required or permitted by law. We may delete or de-identify your information sooner if we receive a verifiable deletion request, subject to exemptions under applicable law. The retention period that applies to your information may vary depending on the Mind Scoop Services you use and how you interact with them. Some Mind Scoop Services may provide additional details on their data retention practices, so we encourage you to consult the website and/or FAQs.

Information that’s shared publicly

When you create an account, we create a basic profile page for you on Mind Scoop, containing your username, the date the account was created, and a list of ideas you have liked or created. By default, your profile is public and you can choose to make it private in your account settings. Your username appears with the comments you post and messages you send on Mind Scoop and, if your profile is set to public, people can click your username to view it. If you make your profile public, others will be able to see the following things:

    • The account username you select, and the date the account was created;
    • Any information you choose to add to your profile (like a picture, bio, or your location);
    • Ideas you’ve liked (but not other information such as funding);
    • Ideas you’ve created;
    • Comments you’ve posted on Mind Scoop; and
    • If you have “Liked” an idea update.

You can modify or delete certain information associated with your account (such as your username, profile image, biography and location) from your account settings, and you can change your privacy settings if you want to make your profile private or adjust the default settings.

Creators may also be asked to verify their identities before launching an idea if stated so in the additional terms. Once this has been done, the creator’s Verified Name or usersname will be publicly displayed on their account profile and on any ideas they launch.

Information that isn’t shared publicly

The following data will not be publicly displayed or revealed to other users:

  • Any payment information you provide;
  • Your password details;
  • Your IP address;
  • Your phone number;
  • Your date of birth and other identity verification documentation (for creators);
  • Private profile information, in accordance with your preferences; and
  • Communications you send to us (for example, when you ask for support, send us questions or comments, or report a problem);

Tracking technology

Log Files

Mind Scoop follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites or app. All hosting companies do this and a part of hosting services' analytics. The information collected by log files include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users' movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.

In-app / on page tracking methods

There are a variety of Tracking Technologies that may be included in mobile applications, and these are not browser-based like cookies and cannot be controlled by browser settings. Some use device identifier, or other identifiers such as “Ad IDs” to associate app user activity to a particular app and to track user activity across apps and/or device. We may also use web beacons. These are small graphic images, also known as “internet tags” or “clear gifs,” embedded in web pages and e-mail messages. Web beacons may be used, without limitation, to count the number of visitors to the Service, to monitor how users navigate the Service, to count content views, and to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and email marketing.

Cookies and Web Beacons

Like any other website and apps, Mind Scoop uses 'cookies'. These cookies are used to store information including visitors' preferences, and the pages on the website that the visitor accessed or visited. The information is used to optimize the users' experience by customizing our web page content based on visitors' browser type and/or other information.

Google DoubleClick DART Cookie

Google is one of a third-party vendor on our site. It also uses cookies, known as DART cookies, to serve ads to our site visitors based upon their visit to mindscoop.app and other sites on the internet. However, visitors may choose to decline the use of DART cookies by visiting the Google ad and content network Privacy Policy at the following URL – https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads

Recognition technologies

Technologies, including application of statistical probability to data sets, as well as linking a common unique identifier to different device use (e.g., Facebook ID), which attempt to recognize or make assumptions about users and devices (e.g., that a user of multiple devices is the same user or household).These also include GPS (global positioning systems) software, geo-filtering and other location-aware technologies locate (sometimes precisely) you for purposes such as verifying your location and delivering or restricting content and advertising based on your location. Mind Scoop will specifically ask you to turn on any recognition technology that relates to GPS tracking, for features that may require them. Standard they are turned off.

Social interaction

Please note that certain information, such as your name and state of residence, may be publicly displayed on the Site along with your User Content when you are partaking in certain features which provide you the option to publish Mind Scoop information or content within Mind Scoop or any other platform. If you choose to share content or otherwise post information from or via the Site to Social Media, that information may be public and the third party may have access to information about you and your use of our Site. If you disclose any personal information relating to other people to us, you represent that you have the authority to do so and to permit us to use the information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Advertising Partners Privacy Policies

Mind Scoop may use tracking technology to identify ad-opportunities for and third party or partner. Third-party ad servers or ad networks uses technologies like cookies, JavaScript, or Web Beacons that are used in their respective advertisements and links that appear on Mind Scoop, which are sent directly to users' browser. They automatically receive your IP address when this occurs. These technologies are used to measure the effectiveness of their advertising campaigns and/or to personalize the advertising content that you see on websites that you visit.

Note that Mind Scoop has no access to or control over these cookies that are used by third-party advertisers.

Advertising Opt-out

The Digital Advertising Alliance (“DAA”) provides you with a choice as to whether participating third parties can use your information to provide interest-based advertising. To opt out of sharing your information with such participating third parties for interest-based advertising, please use the following tools:

When enabling advertising opt-out tools please understand the following:

·         The opt-outs described above are device and browser based. Because the information being shared relates to your device ID and/or browser ID, you will need to opt out on each device and each browser.

·         Opt-outs may be stored via cookies. If you clear cookies or if you browser blocks cookies, your opt-out cookie may no longer be available. In this case your opt-out choices can not to be honored.

·         We do not maintain or control these opt-out mechanisms and are not responsible for their operation. Mind Scoop may still use your data to deliver contextual advertising, conduct cross-device tracking to serve you first-party ads directly, or for non-interest based advertising purposes, such as attribution and analytics. 

Third Party Privacy Policies

Mind Scoop's Privacy Policy does not apply to other advertisers or websites. Thus, we are advising you to consult the respective Privacy Policies of these third-party ad servers for more detailed information. It may include their practices and instructions about how to opt-out of certain options.

You can choose to disable cookies through your individual browser options. To know more detailed information about cookie management with specific web browsers, it can be found at the browsers' respective websites.

CCPA Privacy Rights (Do Not Sell My Personal Information)

Under the CCPA, among other rights, California consumers have the right to:

Request that a business that collects a consumer's personal data disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal data that a business has collected about consumers.

Request that a business delete any personal data about the consumer that a business has collected.

Request that a business that sells a consumer's personal data, not sell the consumer's personal data.

Mind Scoop does not knowingly collect any Personal Identifiable Information from children under the age of 13.
